
The Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Centre celebrated its 25 years in operation in
Singapore on 7th October 2006. Dr Nirmala Kajaria, Director, Asia-Pacific
graced the occasion.The Centre has since its inception in 1980:
- offered
meditation courses free of charge to the public
- given
talks to staff of corporate firms
- held
meditation sessions with inmates of Changi Prison, SANA and HIV patients
under Action for Aids
- conducted
short courses at community centres
- celebrated
major festivals and other events such as Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day, etc.
- held
public programmes during visits of senior practitioners
- organised
collection of essential items for victims of natural disasters and needy.
- organised
a Million Minutes of Peace Appeal launch in 1986 in Singapore and successfully
reaching the target.
- participated
in Global Cooperation for a Better World programme in 1988 aimed at promoting
unity and helpfulness.
